Christian European Visual Media Association

Crossing borders, Connecting people, Communicating the Good News

CEVMA is a community of committed Christians in film, television, graphic arts and new media from all across Europe, sharing experiences and encouraging one another. Some of the people involved in CEVMA work strictly in the secular world as writers, producers, directors, cameramen, web designers, composers, set designers, actors, photographers, script writers, bloggers, distributors etc., others are serving in the religious field. CEVMA is also very open to welcoming students!

CEVMA was founded in 1981 by Christian media professionals. Since then CEVMA has held annual conferences – each mid-September, and in a different European country – to exchange thoughts, ideas and to sharpen the Christian vision for media. Although CEVMA is Europe-based it often welcomes people from North America, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East and Africa at the conferences.

‘People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care’

Theodore Roosevelt

  • ‘CEVMA is important to me, because it is a very special time to talk, sing, and pray together with people who share the same challenge: Communicating the gospel into a secular world. CEVMA is encouragement, friendship, challenge’

    Stefan LoßGermany
  • ‘As a broadcaster, it is all about content. CEVMA conferences provide us with valuable relationships to develop and acquire great content.’

    Neil ElliottAustralia
  • ‘Cevma is much more than Christians who work in media. It’s about sharing, encouraging, dreaming God’s dreams together, being refreshed, inspired, nourished and equipped. It’s an opportunity to mentor and be mentored, to learn and to teach, to give and receive. It’s family, home, precious friendships… Above all, it’s about making the difference – together’

    Liliana OliveriItaly
  • ‘I have so enjoyed my experiences at CEVMA. I appreciate the collaborative atmosphere and community spirit. What a refreshing time to fellowship with others working in Christian media.’

    Bill CurtisUSA
  • ‘Spending time in a relaxed atmosphere, listening, learning, striking up friendships with people that I would otherwise not meet, supporting each another in our calling, doing good business, co-producing projects – there a lot of reasons that make CEVMA a priority in my calendar’

    Wolf-Dieter KretschmerGermany
  • ‘Relevant Bible teaching, prayer and fellowship have always been the hallmarks of CEVMA. We are a very helpful mix of people working in the public media and the specifically Christian media. However, I would love to see more public media people. Many earmark time and money to be with us. With the rapid change in communication, we need to be at the forefront of communicating a Christian worldview.’

    Nigel CookeEngland
  • ‘To me CEVMA is a circle of friends who meet every year to share, to encourage and to think about our calling as Christians in visual media. It’s not only the contacts that are important, CEVMA also offers an opportunity to get spiritually refreshed and encouraged by people who know what it means to work in the visual media.’

    Dolf van de VegteThe Netherlands
  • ‘Two words come to mind immediately when I think of CEVMA: Relationships and Refreshment. I count it a tremendous blessing to be part of CEVMA and am so grateful for the people I have met there.’

    Karen RuttUSA
